Director of Studies (DoS) – Thornton College, Milton Keynes & Embley Park, Romsey
Cavendish School is seeking a Director of Studies (DoS) to head the academic requirement at our two summer centres based at Thornton College and Embley Park. After full inductive training in March 2020 you will oversee the management of the academic provision at both of the summer centres. The DoS will support the ADoS at each centre. You will direct the academic staff as they teach students on the short junior holiday courses ensuring that the safety of our stakeholders take precedence. It will be necessary to co-ordinate training programmes and monitor the quality of the teaching with the assistance of the ADoSs. You will also have overall responsibility for the completion of all related administration in line with the requirements of the British Council Accreditation scheme. The DoS must also be prepared to cover for the Centre Manager in their absence.
- The DoS must be suitably qualified with a Level 6 or 7 Degree and DELTA/Trinity Diploma.
- Previous summer school management experience is essential.
- A competent user of computer applications is required.
- Training will be provided, including first aid and safeguarding training.
- Thornton College dates: 4 July – 9 August 2020 (6 weeks).
- Embley Park dates: 11 July – 9 August 2020 (5 weeks).
- DBS is essential, although all staff are subject to our Safer Recruitment policy.
- A full clean driving licence is required to fulfil the travel requirements of this role between the two sites.
- The DoS should own their own vehicle which will be used to travel between the two centres (fuel will be reimbursed).

Teacher – Bournemouth
Cavendish School is seeking English language teachers to work at our busy and friendly school.
After full inductive training you will teach groups of international juniors on short closed group and holiday courses. Teachers should be enthusiastic, self-motivated and energetic to guide their young learners adequately using English. Teachers will receive full academic support from the DoS team.

Receptionist – Bournemouth
The ideal candidate will be someone who is presentable, reliable, hardworking and with excellent communication skills. Ideally you will have worked within a reception, administrative, language school or hospitality role before.
This position does include working some weekends during our busy summer months as well as being available for occasional weekend days throughout the year (on a rota basis). In order to meet our requirements for this role it is essential you hold a current and valid driving licence.
- Liaising with host families and students and solving any problems
- Correspondence between school & host families
- Keeping up-to-date records in accordance with the school computer system
- Manning the emergency mobile phone and dealing with problems as they arrive (on a rota basis)
- Cashing up of the till at the end of the day
